He overtook VVS Laxman's 474 runs at the same position during the 2002 tour of the West Indies.

In the list of most runs at No.6 or lower in an away Test series, Jadeja’s 516 now ranks third, behind only Sobers (722) and Pakistan's Wasim Raja (517). He also joined Sobers and Raja with the record for most 50-plus scores at No.6 or lower in an away series — six.
