Team India has officially begun preparations for the highly anticipated five-match Test series against England, and the BCCI offered fans a first glimpse of the action through an energising behind-the-scenes video shared on Sunday.
The visuals captured the Men in Blue settling into rhythm on English soil with a mix of intensity, energy, and camaraderie.

From there, the camera panned to a tight team huddle — signalling the start of a new era under head coach Gautam Gambhir and skipper Gill — as the squad geared up to begin training.
Warming up the English way, the players took to a light football session on the outfield, with Pant particularly animated, seen sprinting with the ball. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, alongside Prasidh Krishna, was seen doing sprint drills, while spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja joined Gill in running exercises. Throwing drills followed, with Arshdeep Singh also spotted in a focused one-on-one with Gambhir.
WATCH:A day prior, the BCCI had shared visuals of the team’s arrival in the UK. The mood was light yet purposeful, highlighted by a humorous exchange where Bumrah quipped, “Raat me bande ne chasme pahne huwe hai” (The guy is wearing shades at night), moments before Gill was seen walking in style with his sunglasses indoors.
Youngster Sai Sudharsan echoed the upbeat mood of the squad in the arrival clip: “Excited to be part of the Indian Test team... Welcome to the UK,” he smiled.
The five-match series also kicks off India’s campaign in the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship cycle. With icons like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and R Ashwin stepping away from Tests, this marks a significant generational shift for Indian cricket.
The Tests will be played at Headingley (June 20), Edgbaston, Lord’s, The Oval, and Old Trafford — iconic English venues steeped in cricketing tradition.
Meanwhile, members of the extended squad are already warming up in England with India A, who are currently facing the England Lions in a second unofficial Test at Northampton.
