Kolkata Knight Riders kept their IPL 2026 playoff hopes alive with a crucial 29-run victory over Gujarat Titans at Eden Gardens on Saturday, keeping the mid-table battle wide open heading into the final phase of the season. KKR climbed to seventh place with 11 points from 12 matches after registering their fifth win of the campaign. The former champions now have five wins, six defeats and one no-result, with a net run rate of -0.038. While their chances remain slim, they are still mathematically alive in the playoff race. At the top, Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue to lead the standings with 16 points from 12 matches. RCB have won eight and lost four, while their impressive net run rate of +1.053 keeps them ahead of the chasing pack. Despite the loss, Gujarat Titans remain second with 16 points from 13 matches. GT’s five-match winning streak ended against KKR, but they are still well-placed with eight wins, five defeats and a net run rate of +0.400. Sunrisers Hyderabad occupy third place with 14 points from 12 matches, having won seven and lost five. Their NRR stands at +0.331. Punjab Kings are fourth with 13 points from 12 matches. PBKS have six wins, five losses and one no-result, while their net run rate of +0.355 continues to keep them inside the top four.
Rajasthan Royals are fifth with 12 points from just 11 matches. RR have won six and lost five and remain strongly in contention with three league games still left to play. Chennai Super Kings sit sixth with 12 points from 12 games after winning six and losing six. Their NRR is +0.027. Delhi Capitals are eighth with 10 points from 12 matches and an NRR of -0.993 after managing only five wins this season. At the bottom, Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants have both been eliminated from the playoff race. MI are ninth with eight points and an NRR of -0.504, while LSG remain last with the same number of points but a poorer NRR of -0.701.
