U Yadav to A Hales, Oh dear, not given! I was all prepared to burst out adjectives for the catch! Let's hold onto them. Hales survives! Short ball from Umesh, Hales stays back and pulls it towards deep square leg. Southee there hares forward and dives low to take the catch. Everyone was in awe of it and the umpires too thought it was clean but still they take it upstairs. The replays roll in and they seem a bit confusing. Looking at it from the front angle, it looks like the ball might have just touched the ground before going into Southee's hands. However, the other angles seem to suggest otherwise. It looks like the fingers are underneath the ball. Well, surprisingly the third umpire overrules the on-field call. Not quite sure on what basis as the replays were really inconclusive and the soft signal was out. Hales might well consider himself lucky. The batsmen cross.

22:10 (IST) May 17

Tim Southee has taken a blinder! The umpires are just checking it up. The soft signal is given out! One of the catch of the season if it's clean!
