PITCH REPORT - Ian Bishop is the pitch expert and he says firstly that there is a good covering of grass which will provide nice pace and bounce here in Mohali. He mentions that the ground is not equal in dimensions on both sides and one side is much bigger than the other. He mentions that the usage of the short ball against Gayle will be important to get him out. States that Kagiso Rabada holds the key and has to make the big Windies opener hit towards the longer part of the boundary, whilst also mixing up his lengths.
Just a week into the Indian T20 League 2019 and it's moved with a fast pace. We have seen almost everything, right from excellent bowling to thrilling batting to Mankading to a no ball costing a team. Now the action moves to Mohali where Punjab get ready to host their neighbours Delhi in an all North Indian clash. The hosts registered a convincing win over Mumbai and will be very confident heading into this tie. The touring team, on the other hand, are coming after a win through Super Over against Kolkata and will trying to become more clinical. Historically, these two teams have been quite unpredictable and that makes this encounter an exciting one to watch. Hello and welcome everyone, stay tuned for more updates...
As players it is important that we try and perform well for our respective IPL franchises and team. It is also very important to stay in the present. If you do well, you are automatically in the race for selection. But if you worry about the selection, then you put too much pressure on yourself. I am not somebody who is thinking too much about the World Cup spot. I just want to perform for KXIP and enjoy the IPL. T20 cricket is all about having fun
