Player of the Day: AB de Villiers keeps Bangalore afloat

NEW DELHI: Another scintillating innings by AB de Villiers on Wednesday ensured that Bangalore won and are not yet out of the race to knockouts in the T20 league.


Playing at home, Bangalore scored 202/4 thanks to de Villiers's 82 off 44 balls and then restricted Punjab to 185/7 for a 17-run victory.

During his knock studded with seven sixes and three fours, de Villiers added 121 runs in partnership with Marcus Stoinis, who made 46 off 34 balls.

In the last two overs of the Bangalore innings, de Villiers and Stoinis hammered 45 runs off Punjab bowlers Mohammed Shami and Hardus Viljoen.
