On the fourth ball of the eighth over, Chakaravarthy bowled Jurel with a ripper. Jurel was in two minds whether to run it down towards third man or defend it forward. He left a big gap between bat and pad as the ball sneaked through the gate and disturbed the furniture.
A couple of balls later, Chakaravarthy created more magic; this time, he went through Hasaranga's defense, who was promoted up the order to tackle spin. Hasaranga was completely beaten, with the ball going past the inside edge to rattle the stumps.
Earlier, Andre Russell struck a 25-ball 57 not out to lift Kolkata Knight Riders to 206 for four against Rajasthan Royals in their must-win IPL match.
Apart from Russell, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44), opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz (35), and skipper Ajinkya Rahane (30) were the other main contributors.
For the Royals, Jofra Archer (1/30), Yudhvir Singh Charak (1/26), Maheesh Theekshana (1/41), and Riyan Parag (1/21) were among the wicket-takers.
KKR are placed seventh in the IPL standings with four wins and five losses, while RR are already out of the reckoning for the play-offs.
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane had won the toss and elected to bat first. KKR brought in England all-rounder Moeen Ali and Ramandeep Singh for this game.
The Royals had made three changes for this game. Nitish Rana, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Kumar Kartikeya went out, while Yudhvir Singh, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Kunal Rathore came into the eleven.
