'Go RCB, bring it home': CSK veteran backs Rajat Patidar for IPL glory
NEW DELHI: As Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru prepare to break their title jinx and lay claim to their maiden IPL trophy, former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu has thrown his weight behind RCB ahead of Tuesday’s blockbuster final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
"There has always been an amazing cricketing rivalry between the 3 great southern cities.. I think it’s time for the great city of Bangalore to win their first ever Ipl trophy tonight which they truly deserve to this season.. Go RCB.. bring it home," Rayudu said, expressing his support on social media.

Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings have emerged as one of the most consistent and balanced sides this season. Topping the league table with nine wins, they showcased depth, resilience, and strong team unity. Despite a setback in Qualifier 1 against RCB, PBKS bounced back in style by knocking out five-time champions Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 to book their place in the final — setting up a much-anticipated rematch with Bengaluru.
Tuesday’s final marks only the second time PBKS have reached the summit clash, with their previous appearance dating back to 2014.
RCB, on the other hand, are no strangers to IPL finals — having featured in three (2009, 2011, 2016) — but have fallen short each time. Now, with a strong squad and a wave of momentum, they return to familiar ground at the world’s largest cricket stadium, aiming to finally end their 18-year wait for the elusive title.
The stage is set, and with fans, former players, and cities rallying behind them, both teams will be eager to etch their names into IPL history.
