Lucknow Super Giants

pulled off a miraculous six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings on Thursday as they chased down a massive 211-run target. The newly-formed franchise registered the fourth highest successful run-chase ever in the history of the IPL for their maiden triumph.

Lucknow Super Giants had begun their IPL journey with a loss against the other new franchise Gujarat Titans. And as the wait for the first win finally ended for Lucknow, the franchise members were visibly elated.



Lucknow's mentor, former India cricketer, Gautam Gambhir was silent and not showing any emotions as such through Lucknow's epic run chase against the defending champions. But when his team tied the scores and it was clear they were going to win, Gambhir was all pumped up and euphoric.

Gambhir's reaction became an instant hit on social media.

In an all pumped-up avatar, the Lucknow mentor was seen throwing a punch in the air as soon as the latest IPL sensation Ayush Badoni smacked Mukesh Choudhary for a maximum off the first legal delivery of the final over to level the score.



Lucknow eventually crossed the finishing line with 3 balls to spare.

Gambhir's interaction with former CSK captain and Gambhir's former India teammate, MS Dhoni, after the match was also talked about quite a bit and discussed by the fans.



Quinton de Kock (61 off 45) and Evin Lewis (55* off 23) were the chief architects of Lucknow's incredible chase in the high scoring encounter.

For CSK, it was another heartbreaking defeat. This is also the first time ever that they have lost their first two matches in an IPL season.
