For Mumbai Indians, the loss meant they slipped to fourth place with 16 points and will now play in the Eliminator.

Their net run rate of +0.372 helped them edge past Gujarat Titans, who also won 9 matches but finished second with 18 points and a slightly lower NRR of +0.254.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who still have one game remaining, sit third with 17 points from 13 matches. A win in their final game (vs Lucknow Super Giants) could potentially push them to second place, but for now, they are locked in for a playoff berth.
Mumbai Indians, despite boasting the highest net run rate (+1.142) among all teams, slipped to fourth due to their sixth defeat of the season. Their road to the IPL final has now become more difficult, with the Eliminator being a do-or-die clash.
