With the 2025 IPL playoffs set to commence on the 29th of May, the teams in contention for the trophy have to deal with a squad problem - several stars will leave or have already left their sides ahead of the knockout phase, with new players flying in as their replacements. One such player is Jacob Bethell, who has parted ways with RCB owing to national team duty. While the Englishman, who is 21 years old only featured for the franchise on two occasions, his relationship with teammate and Welshman Phil Salt often became the focal point of discussion.
With RCB announcing Bethell's departure and the signing of Tim Seifert as his replacement, a clip in which Bethell and Salt are seen taking jabs at each other is picking up traction on social media. In the video shared on X, Salt is seen mocking his teammate, where he expresses his delight at the latter leaving the team.

Poking fun at his teammate, Salt added, "I'll miss his general noise in the dressing room. I'll miss him coming up to me and talking the biggest roll of garbage you've ever heard in your life, everyday. That's what I'll miss about him."
While Bethell departs, Salt continues to be a crucial element of the Challengers' batting line-up. Salt's most recent knock for RCB came in the 42 run loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad in which he put up an impressive 62 from 32 deliveries in a losing fight ahead of the playoffs.
Who's that IPL player?Salt also mentioned that it's better that RCB lost this game (vs SRH) instead of falling in the playoffs. Moving forward, Salt's form, alongside the likes of Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal if the side is to put an end to their 18-year long wait for a maiden IPL crown.
