NEW DELHI: Ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024, the star-studded side changed their team name to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and then began their campaign with a defeat against defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the season opener, followed by a win against Punjab Kings.
At the IPL auction, RCB strengthened their bowling department by signing four pacers -- three overseas and one Indian -- in the IPL 2024 Auction held in Dubai on Tuesday. RCB bagged West Indian Alzarri Joseph, New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson, pace-allrounder Tom Curran and Yash Dayal after intense bidding wars.

Punjab Kings IPL 2024 SquadRCB spent Rs 11.5 crore to buy Joseph, their most expensive buy of the auction. Further they splurged Rs 5 crore for Dayal, and Rs 2 crore and Rs 1.5 crore respectively for Ferguson and Curran.
