Deepak Chahar to Mitchell Marsh, NO BALL! Too full on off, Mitchell Marsh drills this to mid on for no run. Hang on, the sound of the buzzer in the background means trouble for Deepak Chahar as he has overstepped. Free Hit up next.
Deepak Chahar to Mitchell Marsh, SIX! GIGANTIC FROM MARSH! On a length down leg, Mitchell Marsh leans into it and picks it up, deposits this on top of the roof of the stadium towards deep square with a flick for a six. This was purely timed right out of the middle of Marsh's bat.
Boult and Chahar have been the frontline pacers for MI this season, having picked up 18 wickets collectively. Here's Deepak Chahar from the other end.
Trent Boult to Aiden Markram, Well done. Perfect line and length, on a good length just around off, angling away, Aiden gets right behind the ball and defends.
Trent Boult to Aiden Markram, FOUR MORE! The length changes but the line doesn't. Result, the same! Boult pulls the length back a touch but delivers more width outside off. Markram stands tall and punches this through the gap between cover and point again, for consecutive boundaries. 207 more needed from 115 balls.
Trent Boult to Aiden Markram, FOUR! BEAUTY! First boundary of the run chase. Early present from Trent Boult. Wide half volley, outside off, Aiden Markram leans, gets to the pitch of the ball and drives it crisply through the covers. Fine way to get off the mark.

We are back with the second essay! The two umpires are out in the middle, and Mumbai Indians spread out to take the field. As expected, Jasprit Bumrah comes in as an impact substitute, replacing Rohit Sharma! Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh are the openers out for Lucknow Super Giants. Trent Boult has the new ball in hand and will start the proceedings. Here we go!
... THE RUN CHASE ...
Right then, 216 the target! Lucknow Super Giants will need another strong showing from their top order if they’re to pull off this chase. The pitch has played true so far, with no real demons, and if they bat smartly, this total is certainly within reach. That said, Mumbai Indians have a world-class bowling attack champing at the bit, ready to strike early and pile on the pressure. It’s all perfectly set up for a cracking second innings! Back in a bit with LSG’s reply!
The latest Orange Cap holder, Mumbai Indians' SURYAKUMAR YADAV, is up for a chat. On being asked about its ownership, Suryakumar smiles and says that it is the first time for him, to hold the Orange Cap, after a really long time. Adds that it feels really special and hopes that he can continue with the same consistency. On his consistency, Yadav says that he is just following the processes. On his batting, SKY says that he was really happy when MI lost the toss because it is really hot out there. Feels the conditions are really challenging and to put 200-plus is a good job. On being the third quickest to 4000 IPL runs, Suryakumar Yadav does not want to say anything and just keep scoring runs. On the total, Surya feels it is a good score as the wicket is slow and batting will be a challenge in the second innings.
While the Lucknow Super Giants weren't terrible with the ball, they failed to capitalise on the crucial breakthroughs that came their way. A lack of consistency with tight lines and lengths hurt them, and no bowler looked threatening enough to trouble the incoming batters. Tellingly, only two of the 20 overs went boundaryless, a clear testament to how well MI maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings. Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav picked up two wickets each for LSG, while the rest of the bowlers chipped in with one apiece.
Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Mumbai Indians always found a batter ready to take on the aggressor’s role, ensuring the scoring rate never slowed down. Suryakumar Yadav was the key through the middle overs, crafting a crucial fifty to keep the momentum alive. Later, Naman Dhir and Corbin Bosch provided the perfect finish with fiery cameos, propelling MI past the 200-run mark in style.
Rickelton soon brought up his second fifty of the season, a blistering effort off just 25 balls. However, Digvesh Singh provided LSG a much-needed breakthrough, removing the dangerous left-hander and briefly stemming the flow of runs. But the reprieve didn’t last long.
Having been put into bat first, Mumbai Indians came out with clear intent. After a watchful first over to assess the conditions, Ryan Rickelton shifted gears, unleashing a flurry of lusty boundaries. At the other end, Rohit Sharma wasted no time either, going bang-bang against speedster Mayank Yadav with two towering sixes, before falling to a clever slower ball. Ryan, though, kept the momentum alive, continuing the onslaught while Will Jacks settled in and found his rhythm. Together, they powered MI to a strong 66/1 at the end of the Powerplay.
Mumbai Indians breach the 210-mark in style! It’s been a perfectly calculated assault from the home side as they finish their 20 overs at a commanding 215/7. While Lucknow Super Giants showed glimpses of control with the ball, their inconsistency cost them dearly, and they now face a massive task ahead in chasing down this daunting total.
Avesh Khan to Naman Dhir, SIX! What a way to end the innings! Another full toss, on middle, Naman Dhir gets down and across and paddles this over short fine leg. Goes all the way! MUMBAI INNINGS END ON 215/7!

However, he cannot get enough room to work the ball away and ends up chipping it straight into the hands of Nicholas Pooran at long on. End of a fine cameo of 20 (10) from the IPL debutant, Mumbai Indians are 208/7 after 19.4 overs!
Avesh Khan to Corbin Bosch, FOUR! Gets it through this time! A low full toss, around off, Corbin Bosch makes plenty of room, moving to the leg side and has to reach for the line. Slices it over point for a boundary.
Avesh Khan to Naman Dhir, Nails the yorker at the stumps, Naman Dhir makes room and firms his drive to the left of cover. Mitchell Marsh dives to save a certain boundary and keeps it down to just a single.
Avesh Khan to Corbin Bosch, An appeal for LBW, but turned down. Unfortunately, LSG have no reviews left to challenge the call. However, it looked to come off the bat anyway. Full and on middle, Corbin Bosch looks to reverse sweep and hits it to his pad and then to short third for a single.
Costly gamble. To bowl a spinner at the death at the Wankhede itself is a crime but to do so in the 19th over is almost unforgivable. That last over now puts Mumbai in prime position to get to 220. How much can Avesh Khan keep them to? Meanwhile, confusions in the field settings. Ravi Bishnoi runs in from point, towards square leg, and back again to point. Rishabh Pant is frantically trying to make changes in the field. Additionally, LSG have been given an over-rate penalty, for being too slow with the over rate. They will be able to field only 4 fielders outside the 30-yard circle for the 20th over.
Digvesh Singh to Corbin Bosch, Outside off, a bit further wide, slapped to extra cover for a single. 19 from the over, Digvesh Singh finishes with figures of 4-0-48-1.

Digvesh Singh to Corbin Bosch, FOUR! Just about manages to get some bat on it. Tossed up, on off, Corbin Bosch brings out the reverse sweeps and taps the ball off the inner half of the bat, squeezing it past the keeper to his right for a boundary.
Will it be Digvesh Singh from this end? Indeed. Big gamble. 3-0-29-1 so far.
Avesh Khan to Corbin Bosch, On middle, worked through mid on for a single. 9 runs and a wicket from the over, Avesh Khan's figures read 3-0-29-1.
Avesh Khan to Corbin Bosch, Yorker, outside off, Bosch walks into the shot and attempts to push and run, but can only get a bottom edge back to the bowler. Has to scurry back.
Avesh Khan to Corbin Bosch, First runs in the IPL for Bosch! On a length, outside off, Corbin Bosch gets a big stride, meets the ball, opens the face of his bat and guides the ball behind point for a couple.
In walks the IPL debutant - Corbin Bosch - at number 8, replacing Suryakumar Yadav. While coming in, has a long chat with Surya, regarding the pitch and conditions, one supposes.
Avesh Khan to Suryakumar Yadav, OUT! CAUGHT! Suryakumar Yadav would have sent it over the ropes 9 out of 10 times, but this time he picks out the man to perfection! Avesh Khan goes fuller in length and outside off. Suryakumar Yadav gets enough width to free his arms and looks to power it through, over cover. Fails to get underneath the ball and also to get the desired elevation. Hits it well, but straight to Mitchell Marsh at cover. Suryakumar Yadav departs for 54 (28) and Mumbai Indians are now 180/6.
Avesh Khan to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX AND FIFTY FOR SKY! Gets there in just 27 balls and continues to make the most of his purple patch. Short of a length, outside off, Suryakumar Yadav is early to read the length and pulls it wide and above deep square leg for a six.
Avesh Khan to Suryakumar Yadav, Fires it full and outside off, Suryakumar Yadav looks to hack his slog across the line but misses.
At the Wankhede, Suryakumar Yadav has an excellent record, where he averages 41, with a strike rate of 165 - the latter being the best by any player at this venue. The numbers are before today's knock. Avesh Khan returns. 2-0-20-0 so far. So when is Digvesh Singh going to bowl his last over?
Prince Yadav to Suryakumar Yadav, Another yorker. From around the wicket, on middle and leg, Yadav just about manages to dig it out to the leg side. Ekes out a single. 12 from the over, Prince Yadav finishes off with figures of 4-0-44-1.
Prince Yadav to Suryakumar Yadav, A length ball, wide outside off, Suryakumar reaches out and steers it through point. Avesh Khan dives full stretch to his right from backward point but cannot stop it cleanly. The ball bounces off his hands behind point and the batters get a couple, by the time sweeper cover can cut it off to his left.
Prince Yadav to Suryakumar Yadav, Excellent yorker, again this one tails in, around off, well dug out by Suryakumar Yadav.
Prince Yadav to Naman Dhir, Looks for the yorker but ends up as a low full toss, at the stumps, Naman Dhir thumps it straight to long on for one.

Prince Yadav to Naman Dhir, FOUR! Full marks for the effort, but Ayush Badoni misses it by a bit. Prince Yadav lands it on a back of a length and outside off, Naman Dhir slaps it through cover. Ayush from deep point makes good ground to his right and dives ahead but his fingers were in contact with the ball as he tries to push it back in. The third umpire checks multiple angles and deems it a boundary.
