Nat Sciver-Brunt looked like a completely different player today, delivering a match-winning display with 70 runs and 2 wickets that proved instrumental in Mumbai Indians' success. Just what the defending champions needed to open the points locker. The action continues in the WPL as on the 11th of January, Sunday, Delhi Capitals Women will take on Gujarat Giants Women. Join us at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT) and earlier for the build up. Till then, cheers!

Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper of Mumbai Indians is also Player of the Match. She says that it was a great game for them and she is very happy with performance. Adds that they were disappointed in the last game but have bounced back well as a team. Mentions that she got a good start in the last game, and she had the same mindset here. Further adds that credit to the Indian team that she can express herself freely as they have a long batting line up and same here with Mumbai Indians as well. Tells that yesterday they didn't play that well but were still in the game, so you can think if they play their best what can they do out there. Ends by saying that when you take 10 wickets in a T20 game, you can't ask any more from your team.

23:00 (IST), Jan, 10

Amelia Kerr is up for a quick chat. She says it's nice to get a win. Adds Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt set it up with their partnerships and then Nicola Carey, with those wickets in the powerplay, helped the team. Shares that she is not happy with her performance but admits you have good and bad days and trusts your game plans. Reckons they have quality all-rounders. On the pitch, she says, there was more bounce on it today.

22:53 (IST), Jan, 10

Jemimah Rodrigues, the skipper of Delhi Capitals says that they did well with the ball but just didn't have enough partnerships with the bat. Adds that they will work on that and it was just one of those days, new team and they can't be too harsh on themselves. Reckons that they have enough quality and they will bounce back surely. Mentions that it was fun to lead the side, in front of her parents and at home, it was a tough start but you only learn from these experiences and get better. Tells that it is a quick turnaround which is a good thing as they can't overthink about this game. Ends by saying that good teams put aside such games and they hope to do that only.

22:51 (IST), Jan, 10

Earlier, after opting to bowl first, the Delhi Capitals faced a resilient Mumbai Indians batting lineup led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt. Despite losing Amelia Kerr for a golden duck to Chinelle Henry early on, Mumbai recovered through a steady partnership between Sciver-Brunt and G Kamalini. Sciver-Brunt anchored the middle overs with a brisk 70 off 46 balls, marking her ninth WPL fifty before falling to Sree Charani. Harmanpreet Kaur then took command, remaining unbeaten with a dominant 74 off 42 balls, which included a 19-run onslaught in the final over to push Mumbai toward a 200-run total. On the bowling side, debutant Nandni Sharma was the standout for Delhi, finishing with impressive figures of 2 for 26, while Henry and Charani contributed one wicket apiece.

22:49 (IST), Jan, 10

Mumbai Indians completely flipped the script after yesterday’s defeat, perfectly executing the game plan just as skipper Harmanpreet Kaur had demanded at the toss. The bowling unit was superb, led by Nicola Carey's effective seam-up deliveries. Amelia Kerr picked three wickets as well, while Nat Sciver-Brunt chipped in with two wickets. Shabnim Ismail remained the most economical, claiming a vital wicket, giving away just 14 runs.

22:47 (IST), Jan, 10

Chasing a target of nearly 200, Delhi Capitals' hopes were dashed early as they lost four wickets inside the Powerplay, with big hitters like Shafali Verma, Laura Wolvaardt, and Jemimah Rodrigues all falling for single digits. With Marizanne Kapp also departing in quick succession, the chase never gained momentum, however, Chinelle Henry's spirited resistance managed to narrow the margin and save the team from an even more crushing defeat.

A total turnaround for the reigning champions, as Mumbai Indians delivered a clinical, all-round performance to finally ignite their season. In contrast, Jemimah's captaincy debut was far from a fairytale, her side struggled with execution and lacked conviction across all three departments and was beaten comprehensively.

Strategic Break! Mumbai Indians are well on top here and they will hope to wrap things up quickly and boost their NRR, which could come in handy later in the season. Similarly, Delhi Capitals need a miracle here to win this game, but even if they can't, they will aim to get as close as possible to not take a big hit on their NRR. Chinelle Henry is trying her best out there, but she just needed one of the batters to stay with her. but this is cricket, and we have seen strange things happen. Mumbai Indians Women vs Delhi Capitals Women, WPL Live Score: Delhi Capitals begin their WPL 2026 campaign with renewed ambition and a fresh leader in Jemimah Rodrigues, who takes over the captaincy after Meg Lanning’s departure.

One of India’s standout performers in recent times, Jemimah enters the role after playing a key part in India’s ICC Women’s ODI World Cup triumph and being a consistent pillar for DC across three seasons, all of which ended in finals appearances.

Speaking ahead of the season opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians, Jemimah reflected on Lanning’s lasting influence while expressing excitement and nervous energy about leading the side.

Delhi Capitals head into the new season having balanced continuity with fresh faces, backed by an intensive pre-season camp in Goa.

Head coach Jonathan Batty expressed confidence in the squad’s balance, preparation and team culture, stressing the desire to “go one better” after falling short in previous finals.

With a strong core retained, new recruits added and a blockbuster opening clash at the DY Patil Stadium, DC aim to finally convert their consistency into a WPL title under Jemimah’s leadership.
