This announcement came following the MCA's apex council meeting. In a significant decision, it was unanimously agreed upon, based on a proposal by MCA president Ajinkya Naik, to distribute free passes to the Test match to children from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation schools and the semifinalists of the Harris and Giles Shield tournaments, aiming to foster a love for the game among young enthusiasts.

This match marks a notable event as it will be the first Test match held at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in three years, with the last encounter between these two teams at this venue occurring in December 2021.

The decision to host this match underscores the importance of reviving traditional cricket venues and providing fans with the opportunity to witness live cricket action in a stadium with such a rich history.

Regarding ticket pricing, the MCA has structured the rates to cater to a wide audience, ensuring affordability while maintaining the value of the experience.

The season pass prices have been set as follows: for the North Stand, the Sachin Tendulkar Stand, and the Vijay Merchant Stand, which are open to the general public, the price is Rs 1500.

For the Sunil Gavaskar Stand, tickets are priced at Rs 325 for the east lower section and Rs 625 for the east upper section. These pricing strategies reflect an effort to balance accessibility with the costs associated with hosting such high-profile matches.

The decision to offer free passes to children and the semifinalists of local school cricket tournaments is a commendable move by the MCA, aiming to promote cricket at the grassroots level and inspire the next generation of cricketers.
