Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam foxed hosts West Indies with his left-arm spin on day four of the second Test in Jamaica to fashion a 101-run victory for his team, which allowed the visitors to end the two-match series at 1-1.
Taijul's 15th five-wicket haul in the red-ball format took the steam out of West Indies' chase of 287 after Bangladesh made 268 in their second innings, thanks to Jaker Ali's career-best 91.
ALSO WATCH The Windies' captain and opener Kraigg Brathwaite fought with his knock of 43, followed by Kavem Hodge putting up resistance with his 55 but Taijul produced a spell of 5 for 50 to dislodge the middle order after he had sent both the openers back in the hut.
West Indies struggled for partnerships as wickets fell consistently throughout their innings.
The home team was eventually bowled out for 185 in exactly 50 overs, which signalled Bangladesh's victory. West Indies had won the first Test in Antigua last week.
It is Bangladesh's first Test win in the Caribbean since their 2-0 victory against a weakened Windies team in 2009.
Pacer Nahid Rana, who claimed his first five-wicket haul in the first innings to keep Bangladesh in the game, sealed the victory by cleaning up Shamar Joseph with a yorker, his sole wicket of the second innings.
Fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud claimed two wickets apiece, with Taskin ending up as the most successful bowler of the series by securing 11 wickets.
Earlier on day four, Ali's aggressive batting display, featuring eight fours and five sixes across 106 deliveries, gave Bangladesh ascendancy.
The 26-year-old right-handed batter dominated the morning session, contributing 62 runs out of the team's 75 runs after they resumed at 193 for 5.
For the West Indies, Alzarri Joseph and Kemar Roach claimed three wickets each. Joseph dismissed Ali, who was caught at deep mid-wicket shortly before lunch, ending his pursuit of a first Test century.
The Bangladesh tour now moves into the white-ball leg, beginning with the three-math ODI series. The first ODI will be played on December 8 in St Kitts.
