Off we go...
... THE RUN CHASE ...
With the playoffs looming, GT would be very disappointed with this ordinary bowling effort, knowing that such lapses could prove costly in high-stakes matches. It is now time for their batters, to complete this mountainous task up their sleeves. If the Super Giants manage to lay siege on the Titans' top order, they will be well ahead in the game. But can they get the better of any one of Shubman Gill or Sai Sudharsan early in the first six? A very exciting run chase is up next in just a few minutes.
Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow Super Giants is up for a quick chat with the broadcasters. He says that it is nice to contribute. Add that it has been difficult losing the last three games for them. Mentions that it was important to start well in the Powerplay and take responsibility, but you also have to respect the opposition. Says that the mid-season break did him good as he found his form again and says that it is good to see the fans out here supporting their teams and smiling after that unfortunate break. Tells that 235 is a good score, but it is also a good surface and hopes that the bowlers can execute their plans well and give them some happy moments.

Meanwhile, Pooran wasted no time, blazing to his fifty in just 23 balls, piling on the misery for the Titans with his relentless hitting. As a result, the last 5 overs went for a whopping 75 runs, with only one over going under double digits in the second half of the first innings.

Their premier wicket-taker, Prasidh Krishna, too, went for aplenty and wicketless, which sums up the day for them in the bowling. GT found themselves in deep waters, and with wickets in hand, Nicky P didn’t hold back, going all guns blazing to set up a high-voltage finish.
Despite Markram's departure after a 91-run opening stand, Marsh pushed the charge forward and notched yet another fifty. LSG’s openers, Markram and Marsh, didn’t waste any time settling in, making the most of their chances. including a couple of lucky escapes, to dominate the Powerplay, racking up 53 runs. With a solid start under their belt, the duo looked to shift gears, taking every opportunity to send the ball flying.
A bit of an anti-climactic end to the first half, with a dot ball, but a phenomenal batting display from the Lucknow Super Giants. 17 sixes were struck in the innings, the most by the Super Giants in a match so far in the IPL. Marsh turned his strong start into a blazing century, Pooran found his groove again after a mid-season slump, and Rishabh Pant delivered a clutch cameo. Talk about a dream performance! LSG must be kicking themselves, if only this kind of firepower had arrived a few matches earlier. At the pitch report, Simon Doull and Murali Kartik mentioned that 210 is the average first inning score at this venue, so, the Super Giants have gone well past that figure. Alarm bells in the GT camp?

Arshad Khan to Mitchell Marsh, HUNDRED FOR MARSH! A maiden IPL century for The Bison. This has been an exceptional knock, and he has made it look very easy here. On a length and on off, Mitchell Marsh guides it towards point for a run. Not an expressive celebration, just the raising of the bat, hugging his partner, and going back to take the guard.
