India A spin trio steer dominant win over Nepal in Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars
India A women put on a dominant display to beat Nepal A women by seven wickets at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026.
After winning the toss and choosing to field, India A’s spinners ran through Nepal’s batting line-up, dismissing them for just 78 runs in 18 overs.
Nepal’s openers, Bindu Rawal and Samjhana Khadka, put together a 22-run partnership, with Khadka scoring 22, briefly giving Nepal hope as they reached 55/2 in nine overs.
However, India A’s spin trio completely turned the game. Tanuja Kanwer was outstanding, taking 4 wickets for 12 runs and removing key batters, including Khadka.
Minnu Mani stumped Rawal and finished with 3-8, while Radha Yadav claimed two late wickets. Nepal collapsed from 55/2 to 78 all out, unable to recover from the middle-order collapse.
Chasing the target, India A had an early setback as Deeya Yadav fell in the first over and Anushka Sharma soon after, leaving the team at 25/2. From there, Vrinda Dinesh took charge, hitting 39 off just 16 balls with boundaries all around the ground. She was well supported by Tejal Hasabnis, who scored 18 off 13 balls, and together they sealed the victory with more than 12 overs to spare.
India A’s win was powered by tight spin bowling in the middle overs and fearless batting, leaving Nepal with little chance. Nepal’s failure to build partnerships after a solid start proved costly.
Brief Scores: Nepal 78/10 (Samjhana Khadka 22, Rubi Poddar 12; Tanuja Kanwer 4-12, Minnu Mani 3-8) lost to India A (Vrinda Dinesh 39, Tejal Hasabnis 18; Manisha Upadhyay 1-28, Sita Rana Magar 1-9) by seven wickets.
