India Women vs England Women, Only Test, Day 4 Highlights: Sneh Rana, Taniya Bhatia help India salvage a draw

Sneh Rana (80*) and Taniya Bhatia (44*) bailed India out of precarious position of 240/8 to 344/8 with their unbeaten 104-run stand for the 9th wicket and helped the visitors snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat against England in their own backyard. Deepti Sharma also produced a resolute 168-ball 54 before being dismissed at the stroke of lunch. England, who scored 396/9d in their first innings, enforced the follow-on after bowling out India for 231 in their first essay.

Another good session for England Women. They get to 162 for loss of 2 wickets with skipper Heather Knight leading her team from the front. Once again India managed just one wicket of Tammy Beaumont (66) in the session. Knight remains unbeaten on 47 alongside Natalie Sciver (11 no out). Sneh Rana got the lone wicket of Tammy Beaumont (66) for India in the session with England adding another 76 runs.

A solid hour post Lunch for England Women on Day 1. Both Tammy Beaumont (61*) and skipper Heather Knight (26*) looking pretty comfortable out in the middle against the India bowlers. They have added 50-plus runs for the third wicket so far. Beaumont, in particular has looked in total control in this post lunch session. Off-spinner Deepti Sharma wraps the first session on Day 1 with a maiden. The session certainly belonged to England Women with opener Tammy Beaumont (44*) leading from front. Medium pacer Pooja Vastrakar got rid of the other opener Lauren Winfield Hill (35) for her maiden Test wicket but Beaumont has looked in phenomenal touch. Skipper Heather Knight (4*) batting alongside her as England will now look to consolidate on a good start. ENGW 86/1 after 27 overs.

Finally, comes the much-needed breakthrough for India Women. Perfect line from Pooja Vastrakar. Bowls it just out side the off stumpforcing Lauren Winfield-Hill to drive it through covers. Thick outside edge and wicket-keeper Taniya Bhatia makes no mistake behind the stumps. Winfield-Hill walks back for 35(63). ENGW 69/1 after 20.3 overs.

England openers Lauren Winfield-Hill (18*) and Tammy Beaumont (21*) are off to an excellent start. First hour of the morning session done and England have posted 39 for no loss. Both Hill and Beaumont looked cautious against the moving ball at the start and are now looking much more settled in. Four bowlers used by India skipper Mithali Raj but none have them have been able to produce a breakthrough. Time for some drinks!!!
