NEW DELHI: In the ongoing second season of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), recent matches held in Thane on February 8 saw significant victories for both KVN Bangalore Strikers and Tiigers of Kolkata, enhancing their positions in the league standings.

The Bangalore team, under the watchful eyes of their celebrity owner Hrithik Roshan, secured their fourth win of the season at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium, propelling them to the fourth place in the points table and keeping their playoff aspirations alive. Their victory was marked by a comprehensive performance, contributing to their campaign's momentum.

On the same day, the Tiigers of Kolkata showcased a dominant performance against Chennai Singams, achieving a substantial nine-wicket victory. This win was characterized by a strong display in both batting and bowling departments, underscoring the team's prowess. The Kolkata team's victory was highlighted by efficient chases and disciplined bowling, which significantly impacted the match's outcome.

The ISPL season has already seen Majhi Mumbai, Falcon Risers Hyderabad, and Srinagar Ke Veer securing their spots in the playoffs, indicating a competitive league phase. The event was also enlivened by a performance from popular singer Juggy D, adding entertainment value to the sporting spectacle.

In a notable match, the Tiigers of Kolkata efficiently chased down a target of 66 runs, overcoming the early loss of an opener. The team's successful chase was led by opener and captain Thomas Dias, who played a swift innings, and was well-supported by Fardeen Kazi. In another match, the KVN Bangalore Strikers set a season-high total of 129/6 against Falcon Risers Hyderabad, driven by significant contributions from Krushna Pawar, Sanjay Kanojjiya, and Ashiq Ali Shamsu. Their innings was marked by aggressive batting, setting a challenging target for the opposition. Despite an effort from Prabjot Singh, Hyderabad struggled in their chase, ultimately reaching 95/9, reflecting Bangalore's effective bowling and fielding.
