ISPL Season 2 Auction: Abhishek Dalhor becomes most expensive pick at Rs 20.50 lakh
NEW DELHI: The highly anticipated Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) Season 2 auction took place on Wednesday in Mumbai, bringing together 350 talented players from 55 cities across India.
The auction, held in preparation for the tournament scheduled from January 26 to February 15, 2025, saw thrilling bidding wars as teams bolstered their squads with top-tier talent.
Talented players were sold, with each bringing unique strengths to their respective teams. Among the most notable acquisitions was Abhishek Kumar Dalhor, an all-rounder from the North Zone, who was picked up by Majhi Mumbai for Rs 20,50,000.
Another significant pick was Ketan Mhatre, a batter from the West Zone, who was purchased by Chennai Singams for Rs 17,25,000.
Irfan Umair, an uncapped bowler, also garnered attention, with Falcon Risers Hyderabad securing him for Rs 16,50,000. Saroj Paramani, an all-rounder, was acquired by KVN Bengaluru Strikers for Rs 16,15,000.
The auction highlighted the diverse talent pool, with experienced players like Fardeen Kazi, Jagat Sarkar, and Vicky Bhoir joining the competition.
Tigers of Kolkata made their mark by picking up Prathamesh Thakare for Rs 11,00,000, while Falcon Risers Hyderabad continued to strengthen their lineup, making key additions to their squad.
Each bid reflected the strategic vision of the teams, looking to strike the right balance between batting, bowling, and all-round capabilities to create a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
“It is encouraging to see the growing interest in ISPL from across the country. Tennis-ball cricket is an exciting format, and ISPL has provided a competitive platform for players to showcase their skills," Sachin Tendulkar, Core Committee Member of ISPL. "The inaugural season highlighted some special performances, and this year, the league has expanded to more cities to identify emerging talent. I hope these players make the most of this chance and receive the recognition they deserve.”
The second season will feature six teams owned by Bollywood stars and promises to bring not just exciting cricket but a full entertainment experience, including live performances and mesmerizing shows.
