'Little bit of hate': Yuzvendra Chahal reveals life after divorce from Dhanashree Verma

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal’s voice, calm and reflective, carries the weight of a chapter he has deliberately closed. Speaking about his divorce from Dhanashree Verma, the cricketer framed the experience not as an open wound, but as a finished passage.

“It was a chapter in my life, which is over now. I’ve left that space now. I don’t want to remain stuck there,” he told Mashable India.




“It was done and dusted right after stepping out of the court,” he added, suggesting that legal finality helped him emotionally detach, even as public curiosity lingered.

Much of that curiosity revolved around speculation, numbers, and noise, but Chahal chose a quieter route forward.

“I’m happy in my life, she’s happy in hers. What is one going to get by making someone miserable?” he asked, rejecting bitterness as a takeaway.

Now “happily single”, he dismissed rumours around his personal life and clarified that women seen with him are friends.

A brief attempt at online dating ended quickly; he didn’t understand it, so he walked away.

“When people love you so much, there’s going to be a little bit of hate there as well," he added. “I’ve seen it all, trolling and abuses on social media. I’ve left that behind now.”

Chahal’s relationship with Dhanashree Verma appears defined not by its ending, but by the maturity with which it concluded.

It was a shared journey that reached its natural close, without resentment, without public blame, and with mutual acceptance.

For Chahal, the relationship now exists only as a completed story, respectfully filed away, making room for peace and personal growth.
