'My blood was flowing and bones were visible' : Rinku Singh shares horrific story
Rinku Singh, the left-handed batter who is also part of India’s Asia Cup squad, shared a horrifying story from his childhood when he was attacked by a monkey, leaving him with a severe injury.
Rinku explained that monkey attacks were a common problem for him and his brothers growing up in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. One incident, however, was particularly terrifying. During the rainy season, Rinku, his brother, and a friend were heading to the fields when a monkey appeared from behind.

“It was raining, and we were carrying an umbrella. Suddenly someone shouted, ‘The monkey has come,’ and it attacked me from behind,” Rinku recalled. “It pinned me down and kept biting me again and again. It tore out a lot of my flesh, and my arm became one kilogram lighter than the other.”
He described the panic and pain as his family tried to help. “There weren’t many people around. My brother was throwing stones at it, but it wouldn’t let go. My blood was flowing and my bones were visible. We ran to a clinic, but we didn’t know if I would survive.”
Rinku’s family managed to get him urgent medical attention. “They contacted someone quickly, saying a monkey had bitten a boy. They dressed my wounds, and thankfully I became fine after that,” he said.
From such a traumatic experience to being part of India’s squad for the Asia Cup, Rinku Singh’s journey is a story of resilience and determination. Fans will now be looking forward to seeing him make an impact on the field, leaving his past struggles behind.
