NEW DELHI: Gujarat secured a narrow one-wicket victory over Andhra in their Ranji Trophy Group B match on Monday, thanks to Arzan Nagwaswalla's crucial performance.
Beginning the day at 203 for four, Andhra reached 297 in their second innings, setting Gujarat a target of 144 runs.
Lalith Mohan, Andhra's left-arm spinner, complicated the chase for Gujarat by taking seven wickets.
Gujarat were reduced to 131 for nine before Nagwaswalla (16 not out off 22) and Priyajitsin Jadeja (1 not out) managed to guide their team to victory.
Nagwaswalla's performance was instrumental as he contributed both with the ball and the bat under pressure.
Gujarat earned six points for their win, while Andhra did not gain any points.
