LAHLI: Priyank Panchal (101) hit his seventh first class hundred as Gujarat took a firm grip over their Ranji Trophy Group A match against Railways, on Friday.
Gujarat bowled out Railways for 124 to take a 63-run first innings lead and them ended the day two at a solid 295 for three to extend overall lead to 358.
Railways began the day at 63 for seven and thanks to fighting knock by captain Karn Sharma (48) and his 52-run stand with Anureet Singh (27), they managed to cross the three-figure mark.

Gujarat put up a much better show in their second essay with openers Panchal and Samit Gohel (23) providing the side a strong start with their 54-run stand.
After Gohel's dismissal, Panchal found an able ally in Bhargav Merai, who score 70 before being bowled by Ranjit Mali. They added 141 runs for the second wicket.
Panchal was dismissed soon after completing his century, which came off 138 balls with 15 shots to the fence.
After that, Gujarat captain Parthiv Patel (39) and Manpreet Juneja (59) added 98 runs for unbeaten fourth wicket to put their side in a position of strength.
