Sent to bat first by hosts Haryana at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium at Lahli on Friday, all-rounder Veer Pratap Singh-led Bihar could manage only 78 on Day 1 as pacer duo Aman Kumar and Anshul Kamboj shared five wickets between them by giving away only 35 runs with the new ball. Aman took three wickets while Kamboj, Jayant Yadav and Sumit Kumar all accounted for two each as Bihar were down to 34 for 8.

It was due to Anuj Raj's cameo down the order that Bihar crossed the 50-run mark as the No. 10 batter scored 29 off just 20 balls. He was Bihar's highest scorer in first innings while vice-captain Sakibul Gani was the second highest scoring only 20.

In reply, Haryana posted 254 courtesy Jayant Yadav's 55. Bihar's Himangshu Singh took 4/49 while Sachin Kumar scalped 3/48.

Trailing by 176, Bihar were bowled out for another paltry score of 133 in their second essay. This time Player of the Match Jayant picked up a five-for 57 while Nishant Sindhu took three and Kamboj chipped in with two wickets to complete an easy opening win for the home side within five sessions on Day 2.
