Imran Tahir set multiple T20 records while steering Guyana Amazon Warriors to a dominant 84-run victory against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Friday.
At 46 years and 148 days, Tahir, who picked up a sensational figure of 5/21 this time, now ranks as the second-oldest player to claim a five-wicket haul in all recorded T20 cricket, with only Tomakanute Ritawa's 5/19 against Fiji in 2022 ahead of him.

Tahir also became the oldest captain to secure a five-wicket haul in T20 cricket, surpassing Malawi captain Moazzam Ali Baig's record set against Cameroon in September 2004. He is the first player to achieve this feat in his forties.

Having played 435 T20 matches since 2006, Tahir has accumulated 554 wickets, placing him fourth in the all-time wicket-takers list. He needs just one more wicket to reach 550 wickets in his career.
This five-wicket haul marks Tahir's fifth in T20 cricket, putting him alongside prominent bowlers like Lasith Malinga, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shaheen Afridi, and Shakib Al Hasan. David Wiese leads this category with seven five-wicket hauls.
His recent figures of 5/21 against the Falcons in North Sound join his impressive list of five-wicket performances, which includes successful spells against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, Fire, and Khulna teams across various venues and years.
The Warriors' victory was built on their substantial total of 211 runs, which proved too challenging for the Falcons to chase, resulting in the commanding 84-run win.
