SL vs BAN: Sri Lanka announce 16-member squad for ODI series; first match on July 2
Sri Lanka on Friday named a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, scheduled for July 2, 5, and 8. Charith Asalanka will continue to lead the side, having impressed in the role since taking over the captaincy last year.
The squad features several familiar faces, including Kusal Mendis, Avishka Fernando, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Maheesh Theekshana — all of whom bring significant experience and firepower to the limited-overs setup.

In-form batter Pathum Nissanka, who has scored centuries in both Tests of the ongoing series, will look to extend his sensational run into the 50-over format. His recent red-ball heroics have underlined his consistency and growing stature in Sri Lanka’s top order.
Milan Rathnayake, who missed the second Test due to injury, has also been included in the ODI squad, although his participation will depend on passing a fitness test.
The first two ODIs will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, while the third and final match will shift to Pallekele.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has already announced a strengthened squad for the series, including the return of several senior players, setting the stage for a competitive white-ball contest.
Following the ODIs, the two sides will clash in a three-match T20I series.
Charith Asalanka (c), Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Nishan Madushka, Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Kamindu Mendis, Janith Liyanage, Dunith Wellalage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, Milan Rathnayake, Dilshan Madushanka, Asitha Fernando, Eshan Malinga.
