‘Treat Pakistan matches like a comedy series’: Ex-cricketer slams team after series loss to Bangladesh

Speaking about the team’s display, Akmal did not hold back in his criticism.
“Why are we even bothered about the Pakistan team? Why are we analysing how they played? We should treat their games as a comedy series. Today they have brought disgrace by losing to a 10th-ranked team,” Akmal said.

Shaheen Shah Afridi | Pakistan captain: "I think that early wicket [wickets] little bit cost us, but I'm really proud of the team. They fight till the end, and I think what we need that for youngster [youngsters] and they fight for till the last ball. (on Agha) Yeah, Salman is always a very good player, Test and ODIs he always [does well] in middle-order. He likes to play the spin and also fast bowler [bowlers]. I think Salman for a long, long time, he played for Pakistan, like a very good innings. So really proud and I think, the youngsters came here for the one-day first time and they played.... I think really, really proud today, like the way they played, really proud. And we will support them. (on his batting) Yeah, I will try, like that's my job. But yeah, Rishad bowled really well. He is a best legspinner. And I think congrats to the Bangladesh team. They played really well. (on the youngsters) Yeah, of course, there was always improvement and we also come here and they play international cricket and you need international cricket a little bit. You know, more hard work and you have to be fit in all three departments. But yeah, they are youngster [youngsters] and they played first international series. So we will back them and they played really good cricket."
Mehidy Hasan Miraz | Bangladesh captain: "Definitely, it was excellent match. And yes, sometimes I also afraid, like, you know, the boys played really well and the last over 14 runs, everybody is afraid there. (on their score) Definitely. I think it was excellent wicket. If we get 300, definitely it would be better. But still we're playing well, especially like Tamim, the way he batted. And definitely, they played really, really well. And then Litton Das and Shanto, and Towhid Hridoy, they played really well in the middle. (on Taskin) Yeah, definitely. I think Taskin bowled really well. The first three overs, he took two wickets. And in the end, he got two wickets. Definitely, the momentum is there. I think whole of the series, I think Taskin, Nahid Rana they bowled really, really well. And they make the partnership. So I'm really, really happy."
