USA Cricket on notice: ICC gives 3-month deadline to fix governance
The International Cricket Council (ICC), at its annual conference, has kept USA Cricket (USAC) on notice and directed the board to undertake comprehensive governance reforms. The decision was made during the ICC Annual Conference, which concluded on Sunday.
“The ICC reiterated its previous position and confirmed that the organisation remains on notice. USA Cricket is required to undertake comprehensive governance reforms, including but not limited to completing free and fair elections within a three-month period,” the apex body said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the ICC also awarded hosting rights for the next three editions of the World Test Championship (WTC) Finals to England.
The three finals — scheduled for 2027, 2029, and 2031 — will be held after the conclusion of each two-year cycle. They are expected to take place in June, which aligns with England’s peak cricket season.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has previously hosted all three WTC finals — the 2021 final in Southampton (India vs New Zealand), the 2023 final at The Oval in London (India vs Australia), and the 2025 edition scheduled at Lord's (South Africa vs Australia).
".....the England and Wales Cricket Board have been awarded hosting rights for the next three World Test Championship Finals. The first three editions of the WTC Final were held at different venues in England, with Lord’s hosting the most recent final between South Africa and Australia last month," the ICC stated in a release.
Given the scheduling of the WTC cycles, England remains the most suitable host in terms of minimal weather disruptions during June. In contrast, Australia’s domestic season runs from October to March, making it less feasible.
"We are absolutely delighted that England and Wales has been chosen to host the next three ICC World Test Championship Finals," said Richard Gould, ECB CEO.
"It's a testament to the passion that fans in this country have for this treasured format of the game and the willingness of supporters from around the world to travel here for these games. Hosting these finals is a privilege, and we look forward to working with the ICC to build on the success of the previous editions," he added.
In India, Test cricket is not the most popular format, and if the national team fails to qualify for the final, fan turnout may remain low — even if other top cricketing nations reach the summit clash.
