Kohli will be playing his first T20 international since November 2022 and missed the opener of the three-match series, which the hosts lead 1-0.

Fit-again Yashasvi Jaiswal also made the team as one of the two changes to the side. Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma sit out.

Afghanistan, led by Ibrahim Zadran, have made one change with teenage left-arm wrist spinner Noor Ahmad coming in for all-rounder Rahmat Shah.

The series is a tune-up for the T20 World Cup in June.
