NEW DELHI: Varanasi's
Sampurnanand Sanskrit University
witnessed a unique cricket match on Tuesday with
Dhoti-Kurta clad players
giving their best in the middle along with commentary in Sanskrit.
The match was organised on the occasion of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the university. The one-of-a-kind match was indeed a crowd puller as the ball-by-ball live commentary mesmerised everyone present at the university campus ground.
A total of five teams have been participating in this tourney. Not just the players but the on-field umpires were in traditional Indian attire too. Both the officiating umpires Dhiraj Mishra and Sanjeev Tiwari were former Ranji players.
