on Thursday was involved in a bizarre run-out on Day 3 of Pakistan's second Test match against Australia in Abu Dhabi. The incident took place in the 53rd over of the Pakistan innings when Ali edged Peter Siddle towards gully. The ball went towards the boundary but stopped before touching the ropes.

Assuming the ball had reached the boundary rope for a four, Ali stopped in the middle of the pitch and began to talk to his batting partner at that time Asad Shafiq.

An alert Mitchell Starc ran towards the boundary, grabbed the ball and immediately threw it towards wicket-keeper Tim Paine.

Paine didn’t take much time as he collected the ball and dislodged the bails.
