The sun is scorching down and surely feels like a furnace out there, but still, a fair bit of crowd has turned up in the stadium. Sanju Samson, the skipper of Rajasthan Royals, says that they would’ve bowled first and states the reason for how the pitch behaved in the game against RCB. On his fitness, he says that he is fit and fine now. On his batting position, he humbly says that he respects where Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is batting and informs that he will bat down the order, and Vaibhav will continue to open for them. Appreciates the youngster and says he has batted extraordinarily so far. Informs that Kwena Maphaka is in for Jofra Archer.

Shreyas Iyer, the skipper of Punjab Kings, says that they will bat first. Adds that the wicket looks fantastic and it was the plan they made in the dressing, to utilize that powerhouse batting. Mentions that all of them were in high spirits about getting back to the tournament rather than not playing and goes on to applaud the armed forces. Informs that they have to make the best use of the side they have and need to play the best game with that and says that the likes of Mitchell Owen, Marco Jansen and Azmatullah Omarzai are the overseas players in the XI to begin with.
