'No Role For Any Third Parties': India On Nepal PM's Remarks On Border Encroachment, Britain Talks
India has responded to remarks made by Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah on border encroachment and discussions involving the United Kingdom over the Lipulekh issue. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India had taken note of both Shah’s comments and the subsequent clarification issued by Nepal’s Foreign Ministry. He stated that nearly 98 per cent of the India-Nepal boundary has already been demarcated, with only a few segments remaining unresolved due to factors such as shifts in the Gandak River. Jaiswal added that joint mechanisms are addressing cross-border occupation issues and stressed that boundary matters between India and Nepal are strictly bilateral, leaving no role for any third party.
