Despite the day not ending on a happy note for the visitors, there was a broad smile on the face of South Africa's Anrich Nortje when he was asked about Virat Kohli's wicket.

"I was hoping for a wicket somewhere and to get him was unbelievable," said Nortje later, "But I was just trying to come up with a plan, put as much pressure as possible. And finally got the wicket."

However, Nortje found Rohit Sharma tough to handle. "I don't know about other guys, but it's my first time here, so I'm taking every guy that comes. I had no experience of bowling to him even in the middle order. So it was obviously tough," he admitted.

The youngster also admitted that South Africa had a foot in the door but could not open it. "I think there were quite a lot of opportunities for us right through the series. Lots of nicks going through the gaps or falling short. Something like that happened today, too, but that's natural. We have to keep bowling in the right areas and ask questions. We should only try control what is controllable, I guess," he signed off.
