at the PCA stadium in Mohali on Wednesday. Enroute to his 72 not out off 52 balls with the help of three sixes and four fours, Kohli became the leading run scorer in the shortest format of the game.


Kohli now has 2441 runs from 71 T20Is as he surpassed his teammate Rohit Sharma, who has 2434 runs in 97 matches.



Kohli has scored his runs at an astounding average of 50.85 with the help of 22 fifties. His best came against Australia in Adelaide three years ago when he scored an unbeaten 90 off 55 balls.

After the two Indian batsmen, the third on the list is New Zealand's Martin Guptill, who has 2283 in 78 matches. Pakistan's veteran batsman Shoaib Malik, 2263 in 111 T20Is, is at fourth, followed by Brendon McCullum of New Zealand with 2140 in 71 games.
