DRS time? Keshav Maharaj is pretty confident that he has got Shan Masood caught at short leg. The umpire does not think so and with 6 seconds left on the clock, Temba Bavuma takes it upstairs. Nothing on UltraEdge. Possible LBW now? Doing way too much, spinning down the leg side. Review lost by South Africa.
Keshav Maharaj to Shan Masood, Well, South Africa have lost a review but they will be encouraged by what they saw on that ball. Massive spin out of the rough. The ball pitched on a fuller length, a bit too slow, just outside off and turned back into the left-hander a long way. Shan Masood looked to tuck it across with a good stride out and the ball went straight to short leg. The keeper and the close-in fielders appealed and Maharaj was sure this was out. But then, when the umpire gave it not out, the keeper and short leg backed out. Maharaj tried to convince his keeper that there was definite glove involved and Temba Bavuma discussed with the three of them for a while, before signalling the review. The UltraEdge shows nothing as there is a big gap between the bat and the ball. The third umpire also checks for LBW but the ball has turned a long way to go past leg stump.

Another thing about this particular ball is that there has been no sideways movement after the initial 5-odd overs. So it is basically doing nothing and hence maybe, the bowlers are feeling let down a bit. But this can be a good learning curve. There will be places where once the ball gets older, it stops moving and then, to pick up wickets would be a big challenge. This would serve as a good practice. Keshav Maharaj gets a change of ends. 3-0-9-0 so far.

37 overs left in the day. So all those, who were fathoming a 3-day finish, might want to put that to bed. Though one can never say anything confidently about Pakistan. The conditions have got slightly better, thankfully, so bowling the pacers should not be a problem now. In fact, the sun is slowly peeping out. Bavuma gets his team in a huddle for some last-minute pep talk. Masood and Babar are also out in the middle and their team will want more of what has been laid down so far in this innings. The pitch has not started to deteriorate yet, so batting is still not that difficult. But one is definitely seeing indifferent bounce. KAGISO RABADA will start off the final session. 5-0-21-0 in his first spell. He will charge in to the Pakistan skipper.
... DAY 3, FINAL SESSION ...
Meanwhile, in Bulawayo, in the second Test between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan, the hosts have lost 3 wickets at Tea, at the score of 92, in their pursuit of a target of 278 set by the Afghans. The Asian spinners are making the ball talk and the final session on Day 4 could be a decisive one in terms of which way the match goes.
Wonder what is the scene with Wiaan Mulder. He bowled just the one over and unless we missed out something mentioned by the on-air commentators, don't remember seeing Mulder go off the field or talk about any injury. He is coming off a finger injury but these conditions would be perfect for him. In that last over before Tea, umpire Kumar Dharmasena was looking at the heavens and maybe, the clouds might have a say in whether Temba Bavuma would be allowed to use pacers. With the track aiding spin, Bavuma will not mind that much. The final session is almost on our heels, set to begin at 1330 GMT.
South Africa will be disappointed. Not just with the score. But with their bowling effort. Kagiso Rabada seemed to start off well but the new ball was just sprayed around. Way too many half vollies and just too many balls down the leg side. Add to that, the no ball problems just keep on mounting, having seen 13 in the first innings and already 3 in the second. That is a total of 16 no balls in around 71 overs - one nearly every 5 overs! Keshav Maharaj has already shown signs of being threatening, getting the ball to spin out of the rough. He will be eyeing a long bowl in the third session, especially with the ball getting older and softer and as many as 37 overs left in the day.
