DRINKS BREAK. We have had 15 overs of play and 49 runs have been scored, for the loss of one wicket. But tell you what, it seems like a lot of wickets have fallen. Plenty of action has been happening for the last 45 minutes or so. South Africa were not actually on the money to start Day 4 and Shan Masood and Kamran Ghulam were comfortably batting at the crease. But eventually, the home side warmed up to the task and got the wicket of Ghulam. That actually is an injustice to their efforts as they could have had Masood and Ghulam as well. The latter even gave a catch, which was not accepted by David Bedingham, but Ghulam is living very dangerously. Additionally, the old ball is showing signs of reverse swing and the South Africans will be looking to use that. Pakistan, one feels, are thinking a bit too ahead of themselves. Yesterday, they batted with supreme resolve in the third innings but today, it seems like they are already looking to counterattack from the word go. One can understand if the thought process was to get into the lead as quickly as possible and put South Africa under pressure, but given that the trail is still 159, might be better if they get their resolve back and frustrate the Proteas out of their discipline.

Natalie Germanos on air informs us that Ryan Rickelton's scans on his right hamstring have detected a strain. So he will definitely not field but for batting if need be, there will be a penalty imposed. Rickelton can either bat AFTER 120 minutes have passed in the 4th innings, or when the 5th wicket falls, whichever is EARLIER.

Marco Jansen to Shan Masood, Terrific ball. Is that a sign of reverse swing? Marco Jansen comes from over the wicket and targets the stumps and keeping the length full. Shan Masood is massively late in picking that, missing his flick and he nearly gets a yorker. Is hit on the pads and South Africa appeal, but again, not with conviction.
