Punjab Kings once again showed their chasing pedigree, successfully overhauling a 200-plus target for the 10th time in their history. After opting to bowl first, they were left stunned early on as Abhishek Sharma tore into the attack with an 18-ball fifty, taking Sunrisers Hyderabad to a blistering 105/0 in the powerplay.

​At that stage, PBKS looked completely off rhythm, struggling to contain the flow of runs. But the game turned quickly when Shashank Singh struck twice in a game-changing over, removing both openers and triggering a much-needed fightback. From there, the Kings regrouped superbly with the ball, applying pressure through the middle overs and eventually restricting SRH to 219/6, a total that once looked far greater.

In reply, PBKS came out with similar intent. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh launched a ruthless counterattack, almost mirroring the SRH opening burst. The duo powered PBKS to 93 in the powerplay, both registering explosive fifties and putting the chase firmly on track.

There was a brief wobble when SRH struck back through Shivang Kumar, who removed three key wickets and reduced PBKS to 128/3 in the 11th over, giving the hosts a glimmer of hope.

However, that hope was short-lived. Skipper Shreyas Iyer took complete control of the chase, batting with authority and composure. He timed the innings perfectly, kept the scoreboard moving with regular boundaries, and maintained a strike rate well above 200. Unbeaten till the end, Iyer ensured there were no further alarms as PBKS cruised home with ease.

A dominant all-round performance, PBKS not only chased down 219 comfortably but also underlined their growing confidence in high-pressure run chases.
