PITCH REPORT - Ian Bishop shares that it is pretty warm out there, with not much wind to offer relief, and that could make it a tough outing for the players over the course of the match. Jon Kent joins him, and he describes it as a really good wicket. Informs that South Africa played Afghanistan here previously, and Corne Botha was able to extract pace and bounce, which highlights the true nature of the surface. Jon mentions that the pitch has a good grass covering and, according to him, it is the most impressive strip compared to the other wickets on the square. He observes that the grass has started to burn off, which could see the surface play slightly on the slower side.
The captain of South Africa Under-19, Muhammad Bulbulia says that they would have bowled first anyway. Adds that they want to strike early and make inroads as they have been doing in this tournament. Mentions that every game from now on is like a knock-out but they are not thinking about that much and will take it one game at a time.
The skipper of West Indies Under-19, Joshua Dorne feels that the surface looks like a good one and they want to put up a good total on the board. Calls it a really important game but stresses the need to play with freedom rather than added pressure. He adds that assessing the wicket early would be key before building the innings accordingly. Informs that they have one change with Isra-el Morton coming in for Matthew Miller.
