Former GTA producer’s new game MindsEye brings a futuristic spin on open-world action

Leslie Benzies, the former producer of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, returns to the gaming industry in a big way with MindsEye. Coming to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on June 10, 2025, MindsEye is an open-world action game that combines cinematic storytelling, sci-fi themes, and fast-paced action. Build A Rocket Boy, Benzies' in-house development company, has crafted MindsEye to elevate the action-adventure genre while maintaining the heart-pounding, player-controlled fun fans adore.


MindsEye drops players in Redrock City, a huge, high-tech metropolis governed by artificial intelligence, consumer-friendly robots, and corporate power. The game's story centers on the lead character Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier fitted with the MindsEye, a neural implant that torments him with mysterious memories of a previous mission. As Diaz tries to find out what happened, he becomes involved in a war against the government and giant tech corporations.
His enemies are Shiva Vega, the power-hungry Redrock mayor, who wants control of the entire city, and Marco Silva, a ruthless technology tycoon who has a goal of evolving humankind. During Diaz's struggle to find out the truth, players will battle in adrenaline-driven combat, thrilling car chases, and a rich story involving conspiracy and advanced technology.

MindsEye is an inspiration from Grand Theft Auto, but with a futuristic spin. The game consists of high-speed car chases, intense gunfire, and immersive world-building in an attempt to engage players. Its innovative mechanics and engaging plot make it distinct from other open-world games and provide a unique spin on the genre.
First announced as a part of the Everywhere platform back in 2022, MindsEye was subsequently confirmed as a separate title. It will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC for $59.99. An option to purchase a Deluxe Edition is available, however, that contains exclusive character and vehicle skins, unique weapons, and other in-game content.
With MindsEye, Leslie Benzies will redefine open-world gaming by combining high-energy action with an incredibly compelling narrative within a futuristic society.
