Chasing 175, Kohli (59* off 36, 4x4, 3x6) and Salt (56 off 31, 9x4, 2x6) put on a blazing 95-run partnership for the opening wicket in just 8.3 overs, setting up a commanding win. RCB comfortably reached 177/3 in just 16.2 overs.

Earlier, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane led from the front with a classy 56, forging a crucial 103-run partnership with Sunil Narine (44 off 26) as KKR seemed poised to breach the 200-run mark. However, RCB’s bowlers staged a brilliant comeback, led by left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya (3/29) and pacer Josh Hazlewood, who picked up two wickets.

RCB's disciplined bowling in the latter half restricted KKR to 174/8, a total that proved inadequate against Kohli and Salt's aggressive approach. Kohli’s composed innings and Salt’s fiery knock ensured a perfect start to the tournament for RCB, while KKR will look to regroup after a disappointing defense of their title.

Chasing a competitive target of 175, RCB's dynamic opening pair of Phil Salt and Virat Kohli stole the show. The duo put on a blistering 95-run stand in just 8.3 overs, setting the foundation for an easy chase. Salt was the aggressor, hammering 56 off 31 balls with nine fours and two sixes. Kohli, the "chase master," remained unbeaten on 59 off 36 deliveries, guiding RCB to 177/3 in 16.2 overs. Though KKR managed to pick up a few wickets, the damage had already been done, with Liam Livingstone sealing the victory with a boundary.

The turning point of the match, however, came in the first innings when Krunal Pandya produced a remarkable spell to restrict KKR.

Batters have the skill-set to hit sixes consistently. You also have to up your game, have to make sure I bowl quicker. Change of pace is associated with pacers but also I tried it. There was pressure, but it was a good day for me. If we keep winning like this, it will be a good day. It was pretty clear for me - I don't mind Suyash giving runs, he was our main wicket-taking bowler, so I backed him. Probably the partnership (talking about the most pleasing thing with the bat), we (Kohli and I) haven't batted much together and to go out there and put in a partnership was really pleasing. It is a ground I know and I know these guys (KKR) very well. Yes, it did (the ball came on nicely in the second innings) and you just needed to stand still and hit the ball, it does make a difference. That is what we spoke about as a batting group, very pleased with the outcome. I had a great time here last year and won the trophy. Obviously there are no friends out there (in this league).

I thought we were going well till the 13th over but 2-3 wickets changed the momentum. Batters that followed tried their best but didn't workout.
