Sony's State of Play for February 2026 was an incredible showcase, and the event offered several major announcements and exciting reveals. The presentation ended with the surprise announcement of a God of War Trilogy Remake and the release of God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D action platformer that is now available on the PS5.

God of War trilogy remake
- Santa Monica Studio announced a remake of the original God of War trilogy, and the same is currently in early development. The studio additionally partnered with Mega Cat Studios and released God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D action platformer.
Kena sequel confirmed
- Another major announcement was Ember Lab revealing Kena: Scars of Kosmora for PS5 and PC. It is all set to be released in 2026, and the sequel will feature a wider world called Kosmora with bigger boss battles.
Konami direct highlights
- Konami had its own direct within the State of Play. As part of it, they ended up announcing a new Castlevania game in collaboration with Motion Twin (developers of Dead Cells). Additionally, they unveiled the anime-infused RPG Rev.Noir and the first-ever port of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as part of MGS Master Collection Vol. 2.
Ghost of Yotei DLC
Ghost of Yotei Legends is going to be a cooperative multiplayer update, and it launches on March 10. The DLC will mark the game's 1.5 update and it will feature distinct character classes and three mission types.
