Looking to make Sam’s delivery runs in
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach less of a back-breaking grind? The Chiral Antigravity Device is the key. It boosts your cargo-handling game like nothing else. But unlocking it isn't as straightforward as you’d expect.
Step 1: Land in Australia and Get to Work
As soon as you arrive in the Australian region, your first destination will be the Government Base facility. This isn’t just a pit stop—it’s the place that holds the blueprint for the Chiral Antigravity Device. But it doesn’t just hand it over.
You’ll need to hit Connection Level 2 with this facility. Do that by:
- Completing main delivery objectives
- Turning in lost cargo you find en route
- Taking on Sub-Orders that end at the base
- Accepting Aid Requests via Sam’s ring menu
It won’t take long if you’re focused. Prioritize tasks linked to this base early in your Australia arc.
Step 2: Unlock the Blueprint
Once you reach Connection Level 2, the Chiral Antigravity Device gets unlocked in your Backpack Customization options. No flashy cutscene, no big alert. It just quietly becomes available, so don’t miss it.
Step 3: Craft It (But Not Where You Think)
Here’s where most players get tripped up. You can’t build the Chiral Antigravity Device from the standard fabrication terminal. Instead, head to any facility terminal > Backpack Customization > Fabrication Management.
Then:
- Scroll to the bottom and select “Add”
- Choose “Components”
- Look for “Chiral Antigravity Device”
You’ll need the following materials:
- 100 Chiral Crystals
- 60 Chemicals
- 80 Special Alloys
Make sure to gather these before attempting fabrication. If you're short, explore nearby Prepper zones—they often reward you with key materials for their Side Orders.
Step 4: Slot It In
After crafting, you can attach the device anywhere on your backpack. It doesn’t affect performance—it’s purely cosmetic where it goes. Want to supercharge it? Stack more than one device on your backpack. Each one increases how much cargo Sam can haul without staggering like he’s had ten Monster Energy drinks too many. This stacking strategy is especially useful early on when you don’t have access to vehicles or Floating Carriers.
Final Tips
- Use it often: You don’t need to activate it manually—it kicks in once attached.
- Stack smart: Two devices? Great. Three? Even better, especially if you're a loot goblin.
- Upgrade wisely: As you gain access to more facilities, keep checking Backpack Customization for enhanced versions.
With the Chiral Antigravity Device, you’ll go from clunky courier to slick super-strider. Just don’t forget—gravity may be optional now, but BTs still aren’t. Stay light, stay fast, and keep delivering.
