NEW DELHI: Erling Haaland scored twice as Manchester City defeated Sparta Prague 5-0 on Wednesday, maintaining their unbeaten record in the Champions League campaign.

Goals by Phil Foden, John Stones, and Matheus Nunes also contributed to Manchester City's comprehensive victory. This win places Manchester City third in their group with seven points from three games, while Sparta Prague holds four points.

Phil Foden initiated the scoring in the third minute after receiving a pass from Manuel Akanji and placing the ball in the bottom corner.


Erling Haaland's first goal came in the 58th minute with a backheel strike from Savinho's cross. John Stones increased the lead in the 64th minute, heading in a cross from Matheus Nunes. Four minutes later, Haaland scored his second goal from another Savinho assist, bringing his Champions League goal tally to 44.

Manchester City was awarded a penalty in the 88th minute after Angelo Preciado committed a foul. Nunes converted by shooting past goalkeeper Peter Vindahl Jensen.
