The Turkish forward, who completed a permanent transfer from Getafe last July, has netted twice in his 17 appearances this campaign.

The news follows the club's earlier announcement about striker Evanilson undergoing an operation for a fractured metatarsal, which he sustained in their 1-0 victory against Everton on Saturday.

"We are devastated to confirm that Enes Unal has suffered a tear to his right anterior cruciate ligament during a training session this week," Bournemouth said in a statement.

"The Turkish striker, who has featured in every Cherries game since September, scoring two vital goals in our current club-record unbeaten run in the Premier League, experienced the contact injury in a routine drill on Tuesday morning."

The club indicated that Unal would require surgery in the upcoming days.

The 27-year-old Unal, who recently recovered from a broken toe before Euro 2024, had previously experienced an ACL injury in 2023 that kept him out of action for several months.

Currently, Bournemouth hold seventh position in the Premier League standings, positioned just three points away from the top four spots.
