Bouncing back gallantly after facing a 1-3 defeat against GRC, Big Ben put their campaign back on track with a thumping win. The Dharampeth-based side made its intentions clear by slamming first three goals within a span of 23 minutes.
Baghele was in top form from the beginning. The striker opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Seven minutes later, he added a cushion by converting an excellent opportunity. Wasting no time, Baghele completed his hat-trick in the 23rd minute with a superb volley.
But against the run of play, Azhar Sheikh reduced the margin for City Police in the 38th minute. However, at half-time, Big Ben were comfortably placed with a lead of 3-1.
After the change of ends, Big Ben continued their dominance. In the 51st minute, Narang Arsh made it 4-1. Then Swapnil Neware (71st min) and Sheman Murry (77th) added a goal each to complete the rout.
During the proceedings, match referee cautioned two Big Ben players Somesh Bhamdekar (37th min) and Nayeem Ansari (37th min) for rough play.
On Tuesday, defending champions Young Muslim FC will face South East Central Railway at 3:30 p.m. at the same venue.
