NEW DELHI: Leading bollywood stars and musicians will entertain the Kolkata audience at a gala sport event to be hosted at the Salt Lake Stadium on June 9.
The occasion is the East Bengal's centenary year celebration. Even though the East Bengal, born on August 1 in 1020, are still seven years away from completing its centenary but the club has decided to launch its pre-centenary programmes on the larger scale.

Sonakshi Sinha have already confirmed their participation in the gala event to be held on June 9.
The duo will also inaugurate the club tent, recently furnished with concrete stands, state-of-the-art gym and a food plaza. Playback singer Shaan and music composer Pritam will also perform at the event.
"We will be organising a number of programmes in the lead-up to our centenary year in 2020. The star-studded night at the Salt Lake Stadium in June will kick-start our pre-centenary celebrations," said Debabrata Sarkar, key official at the club,
Sarkar adds, "Akshay and Sonakshi will perform at the event for one and half hour. Both will make a typical Bollywood entry riding a horse inside the stadium after which they will enter the stage on a bike. We have invited leading actors from Bengal cinema, film maker Sandip Ray and Mamata didi also."
The gala evening will include some eminent personalities - President
Pranab Mukherjee, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, actor
Mithun Chakraborty and music director Bappi Lahiri.
The clubs will also honour members of four families from four generations, who played a key role in turning it into a leading sporting institution.
In 2015, the club is planning to host an international match. "We are looking to invite an internationally famous team. It could also be a big name in world club football," the East Bengal official has revealed.
