NAGPUR: The twelfth edition of Aai Kusum Sahare Foundation-organized Vidarbha level football tournament will be held from August 1 to 16 here at the

"Around 75 teams from all over Vidarbha are expected to participate in the annual tourney. The total prize money for the two-week long tourney is Rs 1.5 lakh. Players are not allowed to wear shoes while playing in our tournament," said president of Aai foundation Nagesh Sahare while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.

Ajni-based Azad Krida Mandal were the champions last year. Sky Security, Chandramani Nagar were the runners-up, while RBD Krida Mandal, Medical Square, had finished third.

The champions of the tourney will pocket Rs 50,000 and a glittering trophy. The runners-up will get Rs 31,000, while the third-place finisher will be richer by Rs 15,000. There will be several individual prizes also for the top performers, added Sahare.

The matches will be played on knockout basis. Five-man technical committee has been formed for the smooth conduction of the meet. Daily four matches will be played. The final will be held on August 16.

The last date of entry is July 30 and it can be confirmed at Plot No. 211,

Former prison officer Anand Pillewar, president of Dr Ambedkar Cooperative Bank Prof. Gulabrao Wankar, Ajay Hiwarkar, Madhusudan Muley, Dr Sharad Suryavanshi, Sunil Nandurkar, Dr Sambhaji Bhonsale and others were present at the press conference.
